A new system has been introduced for submitting new articles starting from 11 July 2019.

In cases of articles submitted to the previous system and requiring further corrections after review, the corrected versions should be sent to

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Dear Readers, Friends, Colleagues, and Supporters of the CEJU!

The year 2020 will remain in our memory for a long time and I hope that the upcoming year 2021 will be calmer and will allow us to make medical, scientific and life decisions regardless of external and epidemiological conditions. I wish for all of this in the coming year 2021. I know that this Christmas will be completely different from the previous ones, also for me. Perhaps the absence of our loved ones at the Christmas Eve dinner on December 24 or during the Christmas Day on December 25 will make us aware of the fragility of our earthly existence and provoke reflections on the value of human life, which is of key importance for us doctors.

Due to unfavorable circumstances related to printing, distribution and aspects related to environmental protection, I as the Editor-in-Chief, after consultation with the Executive Board of the Polish Urological Association, agreed that the "Central European Journal of Urology" will only be published electronically from 2021, leaving a few copies "in print" for archival purposes. I hope that the authors, readers and supporters of the magazine will understand my decision to abandon the printed version. This decision is based on an ecological and ethical reasoning. I believe that the promotion of science and contact between doctors does not require a paper version of the journal.

I have once again submitted the "Central European Journal of Urology" this month to the Clarivate analytical center, hoping that the journal would be included in the "Master Journal List". I hope to receive a response from Clarivate Analytics this year. It seems to me that the status of the journal's presence in the field of urology since 1954 (Medline) should illicit some sort of "historical respect" at least. "Urologia Polska", which is a precursor of the "Central European Journal of Urology", published by the Polish Urological Society founded in 1949, is one of the oldest urological journals in the world. The first citation of "Urologia Polska" appeared in Medline in 1954: ([Etiology and pathogenesis of urinary lithiasis]. Szenkier-Mazurek T. Urol Pol. 1954; 7: 5-20).

Dear Colleagues, it can be seen how many changes are coming for the "Central European Journal of Urology" next year. I hope that the past 11 years of the "Central European Journal of Urology" and the 66 years of its precursor, "Urologia Polska" in the field of urology, entitle our journal to be included in the "Master Journal List". "Urologia Polska" was available on Medline as early as 1954, it is a long history that deserves continuation.

Dear Reviewers, as Editor-in-Chief I am inclined to associate the "Central European Journal of Urology" with the Publons database. I think that the modern process of peer-reviewing scientific activity should be overt. However, I need approval from you, the Reviewers and Editors. In the absence of objections, I will combine the "Central European Journal of Urology" with Publons, which I hope will raise the perception of the journal, because the quality of the articles published in CEJU is already high regardless of the reviewer's disclosure status.

I would like to wish a Merry Christmas and a truly Happy (and peaceful) New Year 2021 to all of you, our readers, reviewers and editors
